Donor Advised Fund
How it works:
You recommend the projects and organizations that benefit from your fund each year. You may appoint successor advisers to suggest how the grants are used in the future and/or create instructions as to how the fund will benefit your causes forever.

A Donor Advised Fund allows you and successor generations to play an active role in giving back to our community. A Donor Advised Fund can allow you to bundle your giving for multiple years and simplify your charitable contributions. An Endowed Fund can also take advantage of the Montana Endowment Tax Credit, while building a legacy that will give back to your community in perpetuity.

Field of Interest Fund
How it works:
You choose the cause—your field of interest—that you want to support forever. Your field of interest can be as broad (“improving education in Missoula County”) or as narrow (“supporting innovative pre-k education in Missoula”) as you like. Each year, your dollars will be infused into the community to support the broad cause that you care about.
Why people like it:
A Field of Interest Fund allows you to support broad areas of interest; arts, education, youth, environment, social services – whatever you are passionate about. It also allows the fund to support changing needs over time. In fifty years, we do not know what the needs of our education or arts community will be, and a Field of Interest Fund can adapt to support those needs. Designated Fund
How it works:
If you have one or more nonprofits you are committed to we can create a designated fund that will support their work in perpetuity. You can choose all dollars to go to a single nonprofit (100% to the Home Resource) or multiple organizations (50% to Mountain Home, 50% to Roxy Theater)

A Designated Fund is a way to grow support for your favorite organization forever. You will know that you are helping to meet the needs of your favorite organizations going forward. It also is a way for them to seed a fund that may attract others to give or leave legacy gifts to that organization. A Designated Fund can also take advantage of Montana Endowment Tax Credit, while building a legacy that will give back to your community in perpetuity.
Missoula Forever Fund
How it works:
You entrust the Community Foundation to delegate your funds to support our community’s greatest opportunities and most pressing needs. This permanent fund provides unrestricted dollars, ensuring that your investment will always make an impact for the people of Missoula County.

The Missoula Forever Fund allows you to invest in the future of our community with the assurance that your dollars will always support emerging and important causes. If you make this investment, you know that your gift is creating a long term impact in the Missoula community. Described as the “highest and best use” of philanthropic assets, our Forever Fund is designed to grow and change with the changing community- whatever our needs may be in the future. Planned gifts to the Missoula Forever Fund qualify for the Montana Endowment Tax Credit.
