The Missoula Community Foundation, originally formed under the name Celebrate Missoula Community Foundation, began in 2001 as a Lee Enterprises and Missoulian project. The Foundation initially made small grants of up to $2,000. Between 2001 and 2007, the Foundation raised approximately $20,000 annually for those grants. The Board reorganized in 2007 with a larger vision of becoming a full-fledged community foundation with a significant endowment, and the name was changed to the Missoula Community Foundation. Since then we have raised, set aside, and helped manage over $3,000,000 to provide for the future of our community. We have partnered with the Western Montana Community Foundation to award small grants. And this is just the beginning. drum NOW is the time to take the Missoula Community Foundation to the next level. Missoula is ready for an active community foundation with the capacity to make larger grants and to help Missoulians leave their own individual and family legacies. Our vision is broad: we see the Missoula Community Foundation functioning as a catalyst for change and as a local center of philanthropic leadership that will play an active role in bringing people and non-profits together in creative ways. Help us channel your love for Missoula into tangible benefits that will help future generations love and enjoy Missoula as much as we do!
